The Why & How

One Wednesday afternoon while contemplating what God was saying in this season about ministry, the thought of planting a virtual church came into my spirit. I have always been outside the box, and wanted to have a church quite different than most. How could I utilize all my gifts and graces and have others come alongside me and utilize theirs as well?

I immediately began to interact with two people I trust: Pastor Carl Johnson and Evangelist Charlene Bowden. I asked them to help me brainstorm and give me ideas specifically with sports themes. You see, I am a former Division I basketball player and coach, and I still love athletics and follow it as closely as I can.

So, on that day — February 12, 2025 — Evangelist Charlene came up with T.E.A.M. Church: Teaching, Equipping, Advancing, Mobilizing. Teaching and equipping happen virtually and we mobilize people to advance God's kingdom agenda locally.

The idea is to empower a network of house churches globally to join this glocal (global + local) movement! It is not just about Sunday services or services in general, but about action and doing good! It is about taking the Gospel to the world and not waiting for them to come to us, and bringing Jesus back into the home and family!

Evangelist Charlene was there at the very beginning, helping to brainstorm the vision and — providentially — coining the name T.E.A.M. (Teaching, Equipping, Advancing, Mobilizing) on that first day.

Dr. Dee Stokes

Founder / Bishop

Dr. Dee is a former Division I basketball player and coach, doctoral-level educator, apostolic minister, and author. On February 12, 2025, God placed the vision of T.E.A.M. Church on her heart — a church quite different than most, built to utilize all gifts and graces in community.

Pastor Nikki Taylor

Board of Advisors / Teaching Pastor

Pastor Nikki serves on the Board of Advisors and as a Teaching Pastor, pouring into the T.E.A.M. community through biblical teaching and pastoral wisdom.
